Dan Shoop’s Unofficial Mac OS X Server FAQ has morphed into a WIKI! Much needed I say. Contribute and fill in the blanks.

Graphing Calculator story
I remember Apple using the Graphing Calculator to demonstrate the power of the PPC chips when the PowerMacs were released. This is its story.
Two developers snuck into the Apple campus and, in true skunkworks fashion, worked for months to develop the program without any official recognition. A truly worthy addition to the Apple mythos.

Mac OS X 10.3.7 is now out
The Mac OS X 10.3.7 update is now available.
A few choice resolved issues:
- Resolves an issue in which Safari, Mail, and other networking applications that use DNS lookups could experience intermittent connectivity issues with Security Update 2004-09-30 and Mac OS X 10.3.5 or later installed.
- Filenames longer than 31 characters are no longer shortened when the file is saved on a server via Apple File Sharing.
- Resolves an issue with Mac OS X 10.3.6 in which some FireWire hard drives would not appear (“mount”) on the desktop.

WWDC: Friday
Last day of the show, It felt better attended than Friday last year. Man, do they ever tear down quickly. The last session in some of the rooms was 5:00 PM and by 6:00 the drapes and stages were down.
The WebObjects feedback session was the last session I attended this afternoon, and although not a love-in (not even close), it was much better than I expected. Everyone was very civil and Apple was quite forthwrite and frank about the future of WebO. The news was not all good (or all bad for that matter) but it was good to know. They took suggestions for improvements to the tools and frameworks, and we’ll have to see how much effect that has.
I enjoyed the show, but it will be good to get home, sleep in my own bed, and see Al and the girls again. I’ll have to see what happens over the next year but depending on the release date of Tiger it might not be worth the expense and time to attend WWDC 2005. Time will tell
