NetRestore 3.1

Mike Bombich has released NetRestore 3.1 which we will be using to automate the upgrade of a several hundred workstations to Tiger in the next couple of months.

From the release notes:

"Created a pair of pre/post-action scripts that perform data backup and restore before and after image restoration (backup_user_data.sh and restore_user_data.sh)."

Mac OS X 10.4.3 is out

Mac OS X 10.4.3 showed up today. According to Software Update:

The 10.4.3 Update delivers overall improved reliability and compatibility for Mac OS X v10.4 and is recommended for all users.

It includes fixes for:

  • AFP, SMB/CIFS, NFS and FTP network file services
  • AirPort and Bluetooth wireless access
  • Core Graphics, Core Audio, Core Image, and RAW camera support
  • disc recording when creating and burning media
  • .Mac sync services
  • Spotlight indexing and searching

  • Disk Utility, Keychain Access, Migration Assistant, and Software Update
  • compatibility with third party applications and devices

Project WONDER nightly build server

Whoo hoo! Mike Schrag has setup a build server for Project WONDER here. This is from his email to the Project WONDER list:

It functions very much like the WOLips nightly build server. Each morning at 5am EST, it does a checkout from the cvs server. If there were any changes, it increments the build number and does a Framework, Application, and Examples build. One difference is that it does not tag cvs with that build number, though it could if people particularly want this.
