When using overflow:hidden to clear floats, IE 6 may need you to give the element a width or height (often 100% works fine).

overflow:hidden and height: 1% usually work fine for me
Yeah, seems IE 6 just needs a dimension of some sort. I understand it has to do with hasLayout induced oddness.
